Running on Nitro

With David Fagan on board as a consultant to Lister in the UK, that is certainly the case. The new Nitro handpiece from Lister recently became available in New Zealand and the new features are impressive. David has been working both in NZ and in the UK with the design team and is currently using the Nitro which has also been tested by a number of key players on the NZ shearing circuit.

Not only does the Nitro have a stunning orange flocking, but it has a new slim-line body with an ergonomic grip which gives more comfort and control for fast and precise shearing. The new design includes a new low-profile joint guard which allows more room for the hand, along with the back joint articulation being maximised for greater manoeuvrability.  Another major feature is the lightweight body and components which give exceptional balance and makes Nitro the lightest handpiece of its type on the market.

David spent quite a bit of time shearing in the UK last year leading up to the 2010 World Champs in Wales. “Visiting the factory in the UK and seeing the operation, even before the Supershear machinery arrived, was awesome” says Fagan. “Working on this new handpiece with such highly skilled people who are keen not only to listen but to try different changes is exciting. We’ve put a lot of thought into this project and all want to get it spot-on and so to have all the technical capability to back that up has been really important. Any alterations we wanted to make and test straight away were drawn up and prototyped at an amazing rate and the engineering is so precise”.
